Thank you for caring "stampin'up! card

Thank you for caring
All that glitters! and then some, with this enchanting card. using "oh so eclectic die" set from stampin up, glitter paper, and also a diamond window insert from the same stamp set.

I used 5 x 7 card base.  whisper white and die cut the 4 corners from the "oh so eclectic" set..

I cut a window from the centre big enough for the diamond and put some of the blue glitter card behind the diamond to bring it up.  Layered this onto the glitter paper, but with soft sky behind the main diamond.

I used stampin ups washi tape  and the sentiment was cut using a die set I already owned onto whisper white.

I then added "brusho" blues and a hint of yellow to get the peacock greens. The sentiment "For caring" was from an old stampin up "lots of thanks" stamp set.
I completed the project using Glossy accents  on all the diamonds to make them shine, and of course win k of stella on the sentiment, so it wasnt overshadowed by all the glitter going on.

A clean and simple card with 2 tones, ideal for many occasions.
Ideas to step it up would be turn it into a shaker card. Inlay different colours in the diamonds

An apple for teacher

Stampin'Up! project

School leaving card using new "picked for you" stamp set. and the new in colour "poppy Parade"
5 x 7 base card.

I embossed whisper white mat using a 3D spellbinders embossing folder. i've used for many steampunk designs, and I felt that keeping it simple and uncoloured would be the perfect backdrop for my apple.

The apple is a 3 step stamp, and for this I found the new Stampin up stamperatus ideal as I could set up all 3 stamps plus the stalk on the 2 windows, using both sides.

The colours I used were the new in colour "Poppy parade", "Real red" and "Cherry cobbler". The leaves was from the lovely harvest stamp set another 2 step watercolour style stamp set. With its own punch to cut the leaves. Garden green and Emerald Envy were the colour choices.

The branch was die cut using the branch from stampin ups "Colorful seasons set" using stampin ups wood papers. which I also used as a mat for the embossed whisper white.

Finally sentiments.
I found "helping me grow" had a wonderful sentiment that I had to incorporate, along with again sentiments from the new "Picked for you". I think this new stamp set is perfectly timed for school leavers, but I can see use all year round, harvest, etc.

To finish off, I gave the apple a little dimension with a juicy dew drop using "Nuvo clear", by Tonic studios, and brought it to life with a generous coating of "wink of stella". the latter can be purchased from stampin up.

So to recap, this has used the most stampin'up items of all my projects to date. I certainly recommend the new in colours, these are free if you become a demonstrator this month. Or you can ge them from the new catalogue

Pootles birtthday blog-hop.

I am so pleased to be part of the Pootles birthday blog-hop.

For this Birthday Project I made  this Birthday card with Vellum Orchids
I chose to use items from various sets and bundles, to show how mix and match between sets can create even more variety. It also is an ideal card to make to use up all the small scraps laying around, and shows what an impact can be made by using up the leftovers of other projects.

YOU WILL NEED
Climbing Orchid Photo polymer orchid bundle 14534
White Embossing powder,
Soft Suede ink
Card stock is  A5 Base card Soft Sky and 2 Inch wide x 5"  Peekaboo peach and soft sky card
Designer series paper is 1 3/4 inch wide strip Bundle of Love,
For the Trellis, I used using the Die from the Eclectic Layers, thinlet dies. 143774
Branches are from Wood Textures DSP 144177
using the thinlet from the set Seasonal layers 143751

The Happy Birthday Sentiment is  one set I highly recommend as an essential to your collection, the Vertical Greetings set 141876 .

To make:

  • Use Soft Sky  A5 cardstock as base card.
  • Using vellum, Stamp and heat emboss orchids in white embossing powder. Use soft Suede ink and versamark embossing ink for stamens and some of the orchid petals.

If you are new to embossing on Vellum, then here are a few tips. Make sure your heat gun is heated up before you start, heat the vellum from behind, not the front (inked/stamped) side.
As with all heat embossing its wise to use embossing buddy on our paper/vellum first and have a fine brush ready to tidy up any stray powder on your work. I use a small make up brush
  • On narrow strip of vellum, Stamp sentiment HAPPY BIRTHDAY with versamark and heat emboss with White. Roll top end UNDER using end of pencil, roll bottom OVER. This forms a long scroll.
  • Die cut Orchids and stamens, trellis out of peekaboo peach,  4 branches using wood Textures DSP
  • Cut 2 strips of DSP Bundle of love paper and mat 1 onto Peekaboo peach and 1 onto soft sky
  • Stamp sentiment in soft suede on Soft sky card, round corners
  • Assemble orchids using brads, then glue dots for stamens.
  • Stick Trellis, and  first matted strip of peekaboo peach  on base card, using snail. Stick second strip using stampin dimensional over the trellis.
  • Mount sentiment "happy birthday, between the two strips, using glue dots. place second sentiment below. Finally Glue branches around the two sentiments, then add orchids and leaves using glue dots.
I do hope you enjoy this card and it gives you inspiration and joy.

Thank you for looking.
Please take the time to look around at the other crafters cards and Birthday gifts etc.
